Head of mental health organization dies

Muskin Alies Muskin, executive director of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, died Sept. 22. Muskin, 59, had breast cancer. Muskin had been the top executive of the Silver Spring, Md.-based ADAA since 2010. She previously spent eight years as the organization's COO. Before joining ADAA in 2001, Muskin was director of membership and communications for the Adhesive and Sealant Council and director of the American Dental Schools Association. She started her association career as a marketing coordinator for the American Dietetic Association in 1983. She had a bachelor's degree in anthropology from CUNY in New York City.
